Descending a mountain valley of the Chugach mountain range, Falls Creek is a place dappled in sunlight where your soul is recharged under shade of towering old growth Cottonwoods . These crystal pure waters run year long from the snow stores of winter revitalizing the forest along the shores of Turnagain Arm. Turnagain Arm was so named by the Famed Capt. Cook as he search Alaska's estuaries for the fabled North West Passage that would allow European trade ships to link with eastern markets.

Already in an early dormant slumber of winter, light touches the tops of these grass stands along the shore of a small temperate forest. The warmth of sun beams grace the literal and symbolic day and season within the terminator of light, having already blanketed the lake and forest seen in the background foretelling of the winter to come.

A solid rock shore outcrop juts out from shoreline and descends into the depths of the Turnagain Arm. The full moon rises over the Chugach Mountain as the sun sets behind us presented as a godly blessing in this view. This land was an important vantage view point for Beluga whales for the Denaina Indians of earlier days.

The extended hours of north spring daylight are of great benefit to arriving travel weary geese as they search for safe refuge along Cook Inlet shores to rest and feed before choosing their nesting sights. Though the majority of these geese are Snow Geese just passing through the Anchorage area, there is one Canada Goose that has chosen to tag along with this group.
